An appetite for responsibility
Good taste is our responsibility. And responsibility is good taste. At Geia Food we take our responsibility seriously. That is why responsibility is an integrated part of our work and is reflected in everything we say and do. That goes for the way we behave around each other and the way we cooperate with our customers and suppliers. For us good taste and responsibility are two sides of the same coin, all the way from the soil to the table.
Food waste is a waste of responsibility
Letting food go to waste is a waste of food that could benefit people in need. Not doing anything is, in our opinion, a waste of responsibility. That is why we give food which is close to expiry from our warehouses to the Danish food bank, Fødevarebanken. The food bank is a non-profit, apolitical charity which receives and distributes surplus food to organizations that work with e.g. socially vulnerable children, homeless people and men and women in crisis.
Food under control
Food safety is high on the agenda with the media, politicians and consumers. And with us, needless to say. As a leading supplier of food we take the control of our food very seriously. Our own quality control ensures that we meet all the declaration and food handling regulations in close dialogue with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and other advisory authorities on food legislation, such as the Danish organization for informative labelling of consumer goods, VareFakta, and the food labelling consultant Lolex.
